Local Capital Formation and Development through Cooperative Banks : Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis

Amravati, October 30: Where strong banks emerge, economic empowerment follows. Cooperative banks play a crucial role in encouraging new entrepreneurs and facilitating local development through capital formation, said Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

He was speaking at the inauguration of the new building of Abhinandan Urban Co-operative Bank at Sant Dnyaneshwar Cultural Hall in Amravati. Earlier, the Chief Minister also inspected the Abhinandan Heights building. He appreciated the bank’s efforts in establishing advanced facilities for citizens’ convenience.

Chief Minister Fadnavis said that cooperative banks contribute to the progress of grassroots citizens by providing quick credit and savings facilities to farmers and small entrepreneurs. Those who want to start a business or an enterprise need financial support in the beginning, and banks’ encouragement at that time becomes crucial, he added.

He further stated that cooperative banks in Maharashtra have evolved with time and continue to compete effectively with nationalized banks. Recognizing the importance of the cooperative movement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi established a Ministry of Cooperation, which is bringing about major reforms in the sector. This marks a pathway from cooperation to prosperity, said the Chief Minister, praising Abhinandan Cooperative Bank for its quality work and valuable contribution to the cooperative sector.
