Martyrdom of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji For the Protection of India’s Religious and Cultural Heritage : Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis



Mumbai, Date: October 26:- The sacrifice of the ninth Sikh Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, holds immense significance not only for the Sikh community but also for the protection of India’s religious and cultural heritage, said Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. He further said that the government would extend every possible support to ensure that the story of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s supreme sacrifice reaches every individual across the state.




A state-level workshop was organized at Yogi Sabhagruh (auditorium), Dadar, on the occasion of the 350th martyrdom anniversary of “Hind Di Chadar Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.” The Chief Minister was speaking at this event.

The program was attended by Disaster Management Minister Girish Mahajan, MLA Babu Singh Maharaj, Secretary of the Minority Affairs Department Ruchesh Jayvanshi, Sant Gyani Harnam Singhji (Khalsa Bhindranwale Mukhi Damdami Taksal, Pradhan Sat Samaj), State Committee Members Rameshwar Naik and Sartaj Satinder, Mahant Sunil Maharaj, Swami Hiranand, singer Satinder Sartaj, along with saints, gurus, and committee members from six different communities.

The Chief Minister said that Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji sacrificed his life to protect people of all faiths in India. That is why he is known not merely as the “Chadar of Khalsa” but as the “Hind Di Chadar.” By opposing forced religious conversions, he safeguarded India’s culture and spiritual faith. “It is our collective responsibility to take the story of his martyrdom to every household in the state,” he said. Various programs have been organized across Nanded, Nagpur, and Mumbai to mark this martyrdom anniversary. Efforts will be made to spread the message of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s sacrifice to every village and every home through tehsil, city, district, and regional committees.

The Chief Minister further said that Gurbani is a unique and divine composition in the world. It contains not only the teachings of Sikh Gurus but also the noble thoughts of Sant Namdev and various faiths. Gurbani shows the way of life by embracing all good thoughts and serves as a bond that unites humanity. On this occasion, six communities, which are namely, Sikh, Sikligar, Banjara, Labana, Mohiyal, and Sindhi, have come together. The government and the committee will jointly work to take this message to the masses.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister also inaugurated a website and a song narrating the story of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s supreme sacrifice, marking the 350th martyrdom anniversary of “Hind Di Chadar Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji”.
