Agri Minister Bharane's First Review Meet: Kisan Call Center Announced


Pune, August 22, 2025: Newly appointed State Agriculture Minister Datta Bharane held his first official departmental review meeting today at the Vaikunth Mehta National Institute of Cooperative Management, Pune. Senior officials from the Agriculture Ministry, including Principal Secretary Mr. Rastogi and Agriculture Commissioner Dr. Vasekar, participated in the meeting alongside other key stakeholders.

Farmer-Centric Approach is a Must – Bharane's Clear Directive


Minister Bharane emphasized that farmers’ welfare must be the focal point of all schemes. “The country can develop only if the farmer thrives. Every agricultural scheme must be centered around farmers’ real needs,” he said.

He stressed the importance of delivering modern technology to farmers, citing the experience of Principal Secretary Rastogi in projects like 'POCRA' as an asset to the department.

Kisan Call Center’ Initiative Introduced

Bharane proposed starting a 'Kisan Call Center' to provide immediate guidance to farmers during crises. "Farmers need quick advice and support in emergencies. A dedicated call center is essential for this," he stated.

Appreciation for Good Work, Action on Negligence

He assured better facilities for field-level agri-assistants and emphasized digitization. He warned that negligence would not be tolerated and assured recognition and rewards for excellent performance.

Immediate Relief for Rain-Affected Farmers

In light of recent heavy rainfall and crop damage, Bharane instructed coordination with the revenue department for rapid damage assessment and relief.

Festive Greetings

He concluded the meeting by extending greetings for the traditional festival of Bail Pola to all farmers and urged the department to earn farmers' trust through sincere work.

Senior officials including Principal Secretary Mr. Rastogi, Agriculture Commissioner Dr. Vasekar, and others like Ankush Mane, Ashok Kirnali, Safiq Naikwadi, Vinayakkumar Awate, and Sunil Borkar, along with district-level officers and representatives from 'Mahabeej', were present.
