Environment Minister Pankaja Munde honored with the ‘Kohinoor of India’ award by Lokmat; grand ceremony held in London


Mumbai, Aug 19: Maharashtra’s Minister for Environment and Animal Husbandry, Pankaja Munde, was honored with the “Kohinoor of India” award by the Lokmat media group for her outstanding work in her department. The award ceremony was held yesterday in London in a grand function.

The Lokmat Global Economic Convention, organized by the Lokmat media group, took place in London as part of this global conference.

It was decided by the group to honor individuals who, through their work, have brought glory to India at the international level, with the “Kohinoor of India” award. Mrs. Pankaja Munde was recognized for her remarkable achievements in the Environment, Climate Change, and Animal Husbandry Department under her capable and well-studied leadership, thereby setting a new benchmark. The award was presented by Lokmat group’s chairman Vijay Darda, in the presence of Lokmat’s Editor-in-Chief Rajendra Darda.

Participation in Panel Discussion

A panel discussion was also organized at the convention on the topic: “Women preserving values, the nation’s rich culture and heritage, while also making significant contributions in industry, business, and the economy.” Mrs. Munde actively participated in this session and shared her views.

Reacting to the honor, Minister Munde said:
"Due to the opportunities given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, I have been able to contribute to the state’s developmental process. This award is a recognition not just of my work so far, but also of everyone who has stood firmly by my side."
