Mumbai, Aug 18: The state is currently witnessing heavy rainfall, and according to the forecast by the Meteorological Department, the intensity of rains is expected to continue in the coming days. In view of the excessive rains and resulting flood situations, if crops or fruit orchards are damaged, the respective district collectors must immediately conduct panchnamas (damage assessments) and submit their reports without delay, instructed Relief and Rehabilitation Minister Makarand Jadhav-Patil.
Minister Jadhav-Patil stated that the India Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rains in Vidarbha, Marathwada, and Konkan regions over the next four days. The administration must remain alert and ensure prompt assistance to the citizens in these areas.
He further added that the government stands firmly behind the affected people, and to ensure that those impacted by natural calamities receive immediate help and relief, the administration must promptly conduct panchnamas of damages caused by heavy rainfall and floods. These reports should be submitted to the government through the respective Divisional Commissioners, he directed.
