Mumbai, 12 September 2025 : MP Sanjay Raut through the UBT group and MNS is responsible for defaming the city of Nashik which was sanctified by Lord Shri Ram. Bharatiya Janata Party's media department chief Navnath Ban on Friday directly accused Raut of playing the role of ‘Maricha’ a demon and defaming Nashik by holding an anti-drug march in this holy land. He was speaking at a press conference held at the state office. He also attacked that if Raut wants to hold an anti-drugs march, he should start it from Bandra with Dino Morea and only then preach to Nashikkars.
At this time, Mr. Ban said that Raut has no moral right to speak against drugs. For the last 15 years, Sanjay Raut, as the Nashik liaison chief of the UBT group, has tarnished the image of the city by joining hands with goons. He also made a blunt remark that MNS leaders should get Raut's blood tested as the public wants assurance that Mr. Raut will not be organizing a march after smoking marijuana (ganja).
Taking stock of Mr. Raut's allegations of anarchy, Mr. Ban said that there is no anarchy anywhere in the country or in Maharashtra. If there is anarchy anywhere, it is only a fictional idea in Raut's head. The thoughts of UBT group and Raut have been mixed up. Raut, who speaks strongly of Hindutva, is now thinking of bringing about a Nepal-like situation in Maharashtra. But he should remember that a holy cow does not die due to the curse of a crow.
Mr. Ban said that the people have faith in BJP and not even a shred of faith in Raut. It is a fact that the public rejects the leadership of Uddhav Thackeray and trusts the respected Devabhau. The people who elected 132 MLAs are with us. He highlighted that Raut was never directly elected by the people, and reached Rajya Sabha with only half amount of the votes. Choose any ward in the Mumbai Municipal Corporation elections and even a simple BJP worker will defeat Raut. If he really has the guts and courage, then let an ordinary BJP worker or even I myself are ready to contest the elections against Raut and that would bring the truth to the forefront, said Mr. Ban while throwing a direct challenge.
Mr. Ban criticized that the Maratha community has been cheated by the UBT group and Sanjay Raut. In 2014-2019, the Fadnavis government gave 14% reservation. But Raut and the UBT group committed the sin of throwing it away. Raut also committed the sin of insultingly calling the Maratha peaceful protest a 'Dumb March' and the protesters 'a bunch of idiots'. This is exactly why Raut has no right to talk about Maratha reservation or their rights. He also attacked Raut by saying that the Marathas follow the thoughts and ideals of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, but Raut fails miserably to understand these.
Raut's silence on Chhatrapati's insult means support for Congress
In Karnataka, the Congress government changed the name of the Shivaji Nagar station named after Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Instead of protesting against this insult to Shivaji Maharaj, Mr. Raut remained silent. Instead, he shrugged off the responsibility and said, "Sharad Pawar and Fadnavis should speak." Devabhau immediately protested, but Raut remained silent. The public will not tolerate the insult of Shivaji Maharaj. If Mr. Uddhav Thackeray, Mr. Raut and Chhote Miyan Aditya Thackeray do not sever their ties with the Congress, then the UBT group will be swept away in the coming elections. Mr. Ban also warned that the public will give a befitting reply to those who chant slogans of Aurangzeb in the land of Hindavi Swarajya. He demanded that immediate action should be taken against those who chant slogans of Aurangzeb.
