Dream of a Developed India, with Maharashtra Leading the Way Rapid progress of Maharashtra along with the nation in the last decade : Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis



Mumbai, August 13: In the past ten years, India has reached new heights of progress on the international stage. From being the 11th largest economy in the world, India has now become the 4th largest, and this achievement has been made possible mainly due to the visionary policies implemented under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said.

He was speaking at a luncheon interaction with Consuls General of various countries organised on the occasion of Independence Day.

On this occasion, Mrs. Amruta Fadnavis, Assembly Speaker Adv. Rahul Narwekar, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, Water Resources Minister Girish Mahajan, Skill Development, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha, Industry Minister Uday Samant, Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil, Chief Secretary Rajesh Kumar, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Ashwini Bhide, Secretary to the Chief Minister Srikar Pardeshi, Protocol Commissioner Manisha Patankar-Mhaiskar, and Consuls General from various countries were present.



Chief Minister Fadnavis said that India is taking firm steps towards becoming a developed nation by 2047. Along with the nation’s growth, Maharashtra too has shown remarkable development over the last decade. “We have been able to achieve this because of our focus on infrastructure creation, policy reforms, and a proactive approach in attracting investments. Maharashtra has consistently remained the top destination for foreign direct investment in India,” he added.

Highlighting the state’s growth in various sectors, the Chief Minister pointed out that Maharashtra has made major strides in manufacturing, services, agriculture, IT, and renewable energy. He stated that the state is committed to providing a conducive environment for industries, start-ups, and entrepreneurs.

He also noted that the government is working on modernising urban infrastructure, expanding metro rail networks, improving roads, boosting rural connectivity, and ensuring reliable power supply. Alongside physical infrastructure, social infrastructure in areas like health, education, and skill development is also being strengthened.

The Chief Minister invited the Consuls General to collaborate further with Maharashtra in areas such as technology, clean energy, smart cities, and knowledge exchange. He assured that the state government would provide all necessary support to facilitate mutual growth and investment.
