From Colaba to Boisar: Rotary Clubs under District 3141 and UE Lifesciences’ mega outreach empowered 1,000 women through preventive cancer scans on November 05th

Mumbai, 06th November 2025 – Rotary Club of Mumbai Nova along with multiple Rotary Clubs across Mumbai – District 3141, in partnership with UE LifeSciences, successfully conducted the Rotary Service Day — a landmark one-day preventive health outreach held on November 05, 2025. Spanning 30 strategically located camps from Colaba to Boisar & VT to Mulund, the initiative aimed to provide and successfully delivered over 1,000 free, non-invasive breast screenings using UE LifeSciences’ AI-powered portable device. This joint effort combined Rotary’s deep community network with innovative health technology to advance early cancer detection and empower women across Mumbai.

A total of 30 camps were organized on the day, amounting to approximately 1,000 screenings in a single day.

The day-long drive began at 8:00 AM and continued till 5:00 PM, with camps set up at key community locations including SWES School (Santacruz), BMC Clinic (Goregaon East), Laxmi Narayan Baug (Mahim), Rahul Nagar Mulund Colony, Maharashtra Nagar (Mankhurd), Chinmay Nursing Home (Wadala), IIT Powai Cinema Ground, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Hospital (Vikhroli) and several others across the city. Each camp screened around 40–50 women, supported by trained UE LifeSciences operators and Rotary volunteers.

The screenings were powered by UE LifeSciences’ breakthrough, AI-enabled medical device — the iBreastExam — designed to make early cancer detection accessible, affordable, and stigma-free. iBreastExam is a painless, radiation-free, and non-invasive handheld device that identifies minute differences in breast tissue elasticity, helping detect early signs of abnormality even before visible symptoms appear. This innovation enabled large-scale, accurate screenings in community settings where traditional healthcare infrastructure may be limited.

Dr. Manish Motwani, District Governor, Rotary District 3141, said, “Rotary Service Day is a milestone in our journey toward ensuring preventive healthcare for all. Through these 30 camps, we are not just offering preventive scans but helping women take control of their health and well-being. Our collaboration with UE LifeSciences reflects Rotary’s commitment to leveraging innovation and partnerships for meaningful community impact.”

Gauri Navalkar Godse, Director and CEO, UE LifeSciences (India), added, “We’re deeply proud to partner with Rotary for this citywide initiative. By combining Rotary’s grassroots reach with our AI-powered device, we’re creating a model for how technology and compassion can work hand-in-hand to transform community health.”

The initiative saw key inaugurations by Mrs. Harshita Narvekar, MCGM Corporator, at Indu Clinic (9:00 AM), and Mrs. Krupa Shah, local leader, at Banganga (10:30 AM). District Governor Dr. Manish Motwani also inaugurated the IIT Powai camp.
