Advisory Committee Meeting of ‘Viksit Maharashtra 2047’

 Held; Draft Receives Approval

Mumbai, October 20: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has envisioned a Developed India by the centenary year of independence in 2047. Maharashtra’s Vision Document will play a crucial role in realizing this dream, said Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis at the meeting of the Viksit Maharashtra 2047 Advisory Committee held at Sahyadri Guest House.

During the meeting, the Advisory Committee approved the draft of the Viksit Maharashtra 2047 document, which will soon be placed before the Cabinet for approval. The draft presents a roadmap for achieving developmental milestones in three phases — by 2029, 2035, and 2047.

Ministers Mangal Prabhat Lodha (Skill Development, Employment, Entrepreneurship & Innovation), Pankaja Munde (Environment), and Nitesh Rane (Fisheries) were present at the meeting. School Education Minister Dadaji Bhuse and Public Works Minister Shrimant Shivendra Singh Raje Bhosale attended through video conferencing.




Chief Minister Fadnavis described the Viksit Maharashtra 2047 draft as a historic document, stating that it should serve as a guiding framework for all future schemes and policies. “This document will empower Maharashtra to compete not only with other states but with the world,” he said.

He suggested that the document be converted into a video format so that citizens can easily understand its key ideas.


CM Fadnavis further directed that:

  • Mechanisms should be developed to process project proposals using Artificial Intelligence (AI) for faster approval.
  • AI-based systems should identify and correct deficiencies in proposals to save valuable time.
  • Large Language Model (LLM) should be developed to strengthen AI-based governance and decision-making.
  • The Industry Department, through partnerships, should develop a cloud computing-based database for beneficiary information under various government schemes, accessible to all departments.
  • sustainable and future-ready development model should be created to ensure that Maharashtra’s progress remains uninterrupted.

The Chief Minister also expressed gratitude to the citizens for their valuable suggestions, noting that their enthusiastic participation reflects how deeply people care about Maharashtra’s progress.

The meeting was attended by Praveen Pardeshi, CEO of MITRA; Manisha Mhaiskar, Additional Chief Secretary (PWD); O.P. Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary (Finance); Asim Kumar Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary (Urban Development); Sanjay Sethi, Additional Chief Secretary (Transport); Vikaschandra Rastogi, Additional Chief Secretary (Agriculture); along with Principal Secretaries and Secretaries from various departments.

Citizens’ Overwhelming Response for ‘Viksit Maharashtra 2047’

Between June 19 and July 28, 2025, a state-wide survey was conducted to gather public input for the Viksit Maharashtra 2047 draft. Over 4 lakh citizens participated, including 35,000 audio messages, with the majority offering constructive developmental suggestions. In addition, over 7 lakh citizens participated in department-specific surveys, showcasing tremendous public engagement in shaping Maharashtra’s future.
